The Jazz Arts Foundation is excited to announce the first concert of our Jazz on the Porch at Talon Winery summer series for 2022. Back to kick things off will be Paladin. Members of Paladin are: James Poole III/trumpet, Mark Gardner/keyboard, Brehnan Miller/drums and Mason Daugherty/bass.   This concert is FREE to all! Bring your picnic basket, chairs, tables, blankets, children, and ears for a great outdoor Jazz treat. No alcohol is allowed to be brought onsite. JAF is excited to announce we are in the final stages of setting up our 2022 season of Jazz on the Porch at Talon Winery. We have six concerts once again this season, beginning with the last Sunday in May. Please see our Jazz on the Porch page under the events tab in this website for dates and bands. I am the eldest son of four children born to James Millard Poole Jr. and Victoria Helen Poole. My father was a freelance musician and trumpeter who played the “Chitlin Circuit” in the late 50s and throughout the 1960s. As we have now concluded another successful season of Jazz on the Porch at Talon Winery, we want to say thanks to all the loyal fans who attended our 6 concerts this season. It was another great season with a huge number of attenders at each concert. We also thank each the bands who played for us and we look forward to another fantastic lineup and another wonderful season in 2022. Thanks again!!

On Friday, November 19, JAF will help present live Jazz at the Lexington downtown public library as part of the LexArts Gallery Hop. Threo, comprised of Keith McCutchen (keyboard), Tom Covello (contrabass) and Dave McWhorter (drums) will be playing in the library atrium from 5-8pm. Hope you can drop by the library for a fun night of Jazz and art in downtown Lexington.
