Once again this year our Jazz on the Porch series concerts will be held on the last Sunday in the months May, June, July, August & September from 3 to 6PM at Talon Winery. Please put the dates on your calendar NOW so you will be sure to attend and enjoy the sunshine, friends and family, jazz and wine. At the December 6th JAF Board Meeting the directors voted to hold quarterly meetings rather than monthly ones. As a result, the first board meeting in 2018 will be March 7th at the Eastside Branch Library, 3000 Blake James Dr, Lexington (corner of Man O War & Palumbo Dr) at 6PM in their small conference room.

At the December 6th Jazz Arts Foundation, Inc. Board Meeting current Director and Executive Committee member, Dave Birdwhistell, was elected President for 2018. Other officers elected were: VP – Teresa Tope, Secretary & Treasurer – Ron Allen, and Director/Executive Committee member – Terry Buckner. In addition, the following Directors were re-elected for 3 year terms: Ron Allen, Terry Buckner & Nathan Smith.

The next scheduled Jazz Arts Foundation board meeting will be held Wednesday, December 6 at 6PM at the Tates Creek Library in their Large Conference room just inside the front doors. This is a very important meeting as we will be voting on Directors and Officers plus several motions.

The Executive Committee has determined that there will not be a board meeting in November, 2017. The next Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at the Tates Creek Library in their large meeting room at 6pm unless notified otherwise. May marks the beginning of the eighth year for the Jazz on the Porch FREE live jazz series at Talon Winery. The series concerts are held on the last Sunday of the month from May to September and feature a different group of musicians each month. Again this year the musicians are being sponsored by O’Donnell Family Dentistry, the venue is provided by Talon Winery, and publicity was made possible by a Community Grant from IBM.
