Jazz Live at the Library – August 10, 2023 – Mike Wade Quintet – 7:00-8:15pm
The Jazz Arts Foundation and the Lexington Public Library continue their Season 14 of “Jazz: Live at the Library!” a series of monthly concerts held at the Farish Theatre in the Central Library Branch, 140 East Main St. in downtown Lexington. Show #167 again welcomes another member of the Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame to our stage for his fifth appearance. Trumpeter Mike Wade has played many styles of jazz with his other groups including some funk/fusion, but on August 10th, he brings back some Bebop with his quintet that feature these great returning players: Brandon Coleman on guitar and Phil Tipton on drums. Mike’s combos always include some new faces for us and this time he’ll be introducing newcomers Gunnar Gidner on saxophone and Justin Dawson on bass. Mike has performed and/or recorded with many well known groups and individuals all over and we are fortunate to have him at the library.
