JAZZ: LIVE AT THE LIBRARY!

The series takes place in the Lexington Central (downtown) Library Theater on the second Thursday of each month beginning April 12 through December 11, 2008, from 7 - 8:30 PM, and is FREE to the public. The Jazz Arts Foundation is proud to help present a twenty-one month series of live jazz performances by some of the Bluegrass area’s best musicians who will bring back to life the golden age of local jazz, when jazz was a staple in local spots such as The Coach House. “The series performers are the same great musicians that worked with me at the Coach House‚” says Dave McWhorter, producer of the series: “For eight years, jazz came alive every weekend. Audiences loved it, and the players had a blast. I believe we can re-capture some of that magic; even the same beautiful piano that we used then will be on stage each month to make music again.”
The series is sponsored in part by LexArts, Jamey Aebersold Jazz, Bluegrass Mailing, Data & Fulfillment Services and the Jazz Arts Foundation, Inc.
